the mic
His name is Gyan Sujan. To 19.5 million people he is just Gyan bhaiya, the voice that shows up almost every evening with a headset on and a lobby already loading.
He grew up in Kolkata. His father brought a PC home when he was around ten years old, and that machine quietly decided the rest of it. He was the kid who was more interested in the next match than the next exam, and his family let him be exactly that.
The channel opened on 1 September 2017, back when it was called Gyan A2Z and carried a bit of everything, gaming, tech, whatever he felt like recording that week. The first video went up in January 2018. Then he found Garena Free Fire and stopped splitting his attention.
What actually broke the channel open was not an algorithm. It was custom rooms. He started pulling his own subscribers into private matches and playing against them live, night after night, and the people who got picked told everybody they knew. The channel went from small to enormous on the back of that one habit, and it became the biggest Free Fire channel in India. In 2021 he was the most watched Free Fire streamer in the country: roughly 18.3 million hours watched in a single year and 103,000 people live at once at his peak. By 2023 he was the second most watched streamer in India across every game.
Then, in February 2022, Free Fire was banned in India. The game that the entire channel was built on simply disappeared from the country overnight.

In his own words the ban period was “on the tougher side, as there was a significant drop in the viewership”. He kept the schedule anyway.
He was right. The game came back in September 2023 and he was live for it. But he had also spent that gap proving he was not a one game creator, streaming GTA 5, tournaments and challenges to the same audience. In December 2025 he and Raistar announced they were moving into the MOBA genre, and shortly after both were named official MOBA Legends 5v5 Brand Ambassadors for the Esports World Cup 2026.
Nine years in, the game on screen has changed more than once. The format never has: show up, play, talk to the chat like they are sitting in the same room, and stay till the last person leaves.

Free Fire and custom rooms

The ban, and staying anyway
Free Fire is banned in India in February. Viewership falls off a cliff. He keeps streaming through it, and says out loud he is certain the game will return. In September 2023 it does.
Into MOBA, with Raistar
In December he and Raistar announce their move into the MOBA genre, the biggest format shift of his career.
